The Short Answer:
$100 per 50 minute hour. First sessions are 1 1/2 hours - $150. I begin with 75 minutes to get a beginning sense of who you are, clarity about your concerns, and for us to get the work started in the first session.
RE: COUPLE SESSIONS, I discovered in the fall of 2005 that what I suspected for many years is true. Working with couples/families in 1 ½ hour vs. 1 hour sessions moves that work along more efficiently. Thus, the first 4 sessions are 1 ½ hours; then we discuss if you would like to continue with that, or for any of several possible reasons, it’s best for you to do 1 hour sessions. YOU DECIDE – with my input, of course.
RE: ENERGY MEDICINE, as I am newly certified, the first several clients are $55. Per 1 1 /2 hour session. Then it will go to $75. Per 1 ½ hour session, and will be $100. Per 1 ½ hour session around January 1, 2010. SO GET STARTED NOW!
The Long Answer:
Your investment in creating this desired future that has eluded you thus far, is far more than money. The fee is necessary, because that’s how I support myself. However, what will make the difference is two-fold. First, there must be a “click” between us. The only consistent, correlative factor in research about the efficacy of counseling, i.e. people achieving the changes they desire, is quality of relationship between the client and the therapist. YOU must feel/believe early on that this is a place where you can accomplish what you want to accomplish.
The second factor is how much ENERGY you invest between sessions. Rarely, if ever, has anyone integrated lasting changes in his or her life with one hour a week. What you do with what you experience/discover in that hour will make all the difference.
What do I mean by ENERGY? Certainly, time is a part of that. However, it essentially means WHERE YOU PUT YOUR ATTENTION. You will encounter that concept repeatedly on this website and in your work with me. I wish I could remember who it was that first said, “Energy flows where attention goes.”
